Andrew Edlin acquired his Iowa Real
Estate license in 1997 and qualified in June 2011 as a Broker Associate. This
requires 9 days of class and passing a state examination. Andrew has his degree
from Oxford University in England in Psychology and Philosophy. Born and raised
in the UK, he moved to the USA in 1990 and settled in Fairfield in 1991. He has
extensive international experience, as a crude oil broker and Managing Director
of Amerex Oil Associates in London, and as Director of Sales for The Rose
Company Promotions in Fairfield. He also worked in the pensions and insurance
industries. He served on The Jefferson County Civic Center Board from
1998-2004, on the Fairfield Area Community Theater (F.A.C.T.) Board since 2005,
and is currently President of the Fairfield Library Foundation Board. He serves
as County Auditor’s representative on the Jefferson County Compensation Board.
Many recognize Andrew from more than 25 local plays he has performed in, many
while as owner and manager of the 16th Street Theater (Odyssey
Stage), including ‘Churchill’
which he wrote and has performed in various venues, including at the Sondheim
Center in Fairfield, in 2000 at the Churchill Memorial Library in Fulton MO,
and at Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines. Recent shows include Professor
Higgins in My Fair Lady, Drake the
Butler in Annie, and the Steward in Into the Woods. Andrew has a daughter
Holly, until recently teaching English in Asia, and a son Zach at the
University of Iowa. Andrew’s wife Lee passed away in 2000 from breast cancer,
and he is happily dating teacher and fellow performer Tena Nelson.
